So on the 16th of September, me and sky moved from our land in wolf valley, to a smaller land which takes up half of a smaller island

Wv was just becoming a bit much to try and maintain on our own, so the new land of viobia is a place just for me and sky to live and play, though we stil see allot of our good friends

I have to admit I am extremely content with this new home. It is beautiful in so many ways. Nationality currently separates me from my wife, and while nothing can substitute actually being with her, but second life is surprisingly helpful, even with watching movies within second life

The land consists of a small island which we pretty much split in half with one neighbour. Our castle takes up pretty much of our space

the castle was half made by the person we are renting the land from and was left for us to finish. sky has a copy and one day we probebly shall

Due to the constraints of my computer, I had to choose between grafix and frame rate, and because of the beautiful landscape I went for grafix. I did smooth the animation out in post as much as I could

This film is set out thusly;

Start; me just exploring the castle. In an attempt to make the animation as smooth as possible, I cleared cache before I started, and the textures havent rezed yet

I run right through the castle, cut to the second floor, just up the raps that you see at the start. I look at what will be the four corner towers, then make it to the top

1:25; Im not in the top room of the castle. I have rezed a beach ball, I love those things, and I will push the ball down the stairs into the sea

The land seems to end abruptly here, and if ball goes off the land, it is returned to your lost and found folder. We just about see the ball disappearing

I had some control problems here

3:40; this is our neighbours land. Her name is xymbers slade and she does tarot card readings. Im not sure how this works as she seemed to be busy at the time that I was exploring

she is located on the other side the island that out land is on

5:00; some views from the castle, with some editing errors

1, from the middle part of the castle with the four towers we explored before. This is facing xymbers land

2, from a window on the top floor. About 90 degrees west of the first view. Im not sure what this land is

3, from the back of the castle, sunset

6:50 to end; I made a wise crack about feeling a little like Mario in the first castle, so it despaired and a new one rezzed in its place :D

This castle, which is a fearie tale gothic castle, had just this minute been rezzed. We had yet to decorate or make home in any way

The castle is quite big. There are three or four rooms accessible by teleporter, a secret door on most floors leading either to a balcony ot a bedroom, but when you first enter the castle the most obvious spaces is the downstairs, the upstairs and a small room above. These are all accessible by way of a spiral staircase

I fully intend to make a proper guided tour of this castle as soon as weve settled in a bit. This one was made in a bit of a hurry and we were trying to become acquainted with our new home at the same time

I love you erin

Thanks for watching

  • @Pouchmcqueen the standerd will make a temp file, and then render and save a playable AVI file from that. beleive me, if theres a power outage in the midst of your footage, i'm not sure if theres a way to get it back, and i've been trying to get our SL wedding footage back since i lost it a few years ago :O

  • @Pouchmcqueen also, if your interested in the program, i would stay away from the proffesonal verson, as it costs around $70, the only advantage is that it records in other formats and you pay for that with framerate. the standerd one does aVI at 30 fps, the proffesonal cranks out a jerky 15

although, you are more unlikely to loose footage in the event of power falier, say, with the professonal. don't know tha machanics, but the proffesonal seems to render and save as it records

  • @Pouchmcqueen hey, sorry it took me so long to answer

i use a little known program called River Past Screen Capture. its reletivly expencive for what it does, i think around $30 for the basic, but its the only one in my experence that actualy works

you can download a fre trial, to which the only limitation is you get this watermark near the bottom left o the screen

  • hey i was wondering, what do you use to record your actual footage? Home looks good :)
