The Basic Sauce is used to make any hot pepper based Kimchi using the 3 Steps of Kimchi making. Just to name a few, Napa Cabbage Kimchi, Cucumber Kimchi, Turnip Kimchi and Bok Choy Kimchi. In addition to using it for Kimchi making, Not Just Rice uses it to make various vegetable salads and as a marinade for meats.

  • @EnjoyingLife100 Hello, I am afraid the taste and texture of the hot pepper flakes or paprika is not the same as the Korean coarse hot pepper powder. The red pepper powder is available in your local Korean market or if you don't have it locally, it is also available on the web. Please let me know how it goes.

  • Can I use regular red pepper flakes or powder at regular grocery stores to use? Will it take good? I have never made kimchi before, but I want to give it a try.
