This beautiful stoneware ceramic hand drum is both a musical instrument and a piece of art. Made in two pieces on the potter's wheel, this drum has a Nile River Sturgeon brown fish skin head. The drum has a bright, beautiful, clear sound - nicely articulated highs and a fat rich low end. Finished in striated crimson with white glass melted over it, this stoneware ceramic piece is rock solid. E-mail me for information on an optional piezo electric microphone system for amplification.
The drum weighs 6 lbs, and is 12 inches tall and 8 inches wide. The drum rests comfortably between your legs and can be tapped with the fingers, slapped, flicked, or hit in any other manner with the hands. The head is durable, heat-tunable, and humidity-resistant.
