Poets of the Fall (PotF) are an independent rock band from Helsinki, Finland that was founded by Marko Saaresto and Olli Tukiainen in 2003. The song "Fire" is from
their album Carnival of Rust.
it's a bit like a trip, but you hit it with a slip of a tongue, like a whip, and we're sinking, it ain't
cool to be cool, though you may think it a laudable tool of self evaluation, of ego cultivation, n' i'm
rolling my eyes like the stones for the lies, is it really all about the size or just a simple vice...

Not the person you replied to, but even though I do know what the song means, I still find it humorous that the pictures show a lot of water and green foliage given the songs title.

It doesn't mean fire as in "OMG I'M BURNING!!!" it means fire as in "inner-fire", or "that which drives you". You will to do something.
Listen to their songs long enough, Really LISTEN to them, and you'll see that none of their songs have only surface value. There's an undertone to all of it.
I find it a breath of fresh air, personally.
