The Healeys were classic looking cars from all angles too. The same cannot be said for the XK Jaguars

my dad has a 1966 austin healey 3000 mkIII. beautiful car only problem is that it has been sitting for 21 years and it will cost $50000 to get it running again

You are quite right, amigo, it is not my car.
However, speaking as someone who has owned convertible cars for more years than I care to remember ( including three Healeys like this one - my current car is an Aston Martin DB7 Vantage Volante, I am at least entitled to express an opinion on the subject,all the more so since I am able to do so without reseorting to vulgar and crass profanities !

Austin Healey Three Litre are the best english sportscars for sure!
And at least you can work on them in your own garage easily; try that with a Jaguar E-Type, it's a nightmare! With that hidden backbrakes and slow complicated valve adjusting.
I'm very happy with my AH3000 MK IIa of 1964, a treasure and friend.
