Best kids cereal commercial of all time? You be the judge. Lost commericials from the 1950's created by an animator banned from a major studio. http://www.homestatfarm.com

  • @2:18 Iron Giant , the advertisment on the tv when the kid and the finger is walking through the house :D

  • @Robster543210 Not the HOMBURG, not "HAMBURG" I went and looked up that word in the dictionary. A homburg is a man's felt dress hat and Hamburg is a city in Germany.

  • I have maypo on my lap right now. This makes me happy:)

Well, it helps that the commercials were written around the boy's voice-overs. John Hubley wanted a natural-sounding child's dialogue, so he followed his four-year-old son Mark around with a microphone. There were no scripts, and they took all the improvisations and culled the best ones for the commercials. As mentioned earlier, it's ironic--Mark hated the taste of Maypo because it tasted like oatmeal. :)

  • This was in the Iron Giant!!

  • Sort of makes me think of Dennis the Menace lol

  • Yes, John Hubley, who was forced to resign from UPA in 1952 [after refusing to "name names" before the House Un-American Activities Committee] produced this through his "Storyboard" studio. His son Mark was the voice of "Marky"...

  • @monny287 LOL! That is hilarious! Thanks for the info....

  • @jekorb

It's ironic actually; the four-year-old who played Marky hated the taste of Maypo. :P

  • At the end of the one where he visits Uncle Ralph, due to the commercial ending and keeping the frame still, you get the feeling as they have an extended stare at the door, something really bad is about to go down. LOL. I love these ads!
