  • @parrock1 well said. I played a lot of cricket in England and Australia. As a bowler its your job to out think the batsman. Pace does not matter

  • @Imrankniazi I personally get fed up with these endless 'so in so was faster than him' debates on YouTube. Look, at this level, bowling two miles an hour faster than everyone else won't get you wickets. It's where you pitch it, the variety you have and the intelligence you use to think a batsman out, plus the way you use the conditions on a particular day. Bob was very good at that and I think he was underrated but not the best bowler of his day - I would have Lillee and Holding ahead of him.

  • best bowler ever? nah....Graham Dilley:)

    onya Picca

  • Bob was a true great in every way...superb bowler, up there with the best of his generation, fantastic action. He also was comical with the bat and I always had a good laugh...people forget he once saved a test against the west indies with an immense last wicket stand. But what a bowler...

  • May I recommend the book 'The Ashes, 1945-2005, A Complete Record' by Tony Wagtar.

  • @nik1969100 Certainly Malcolm, Harmison, Dilley, Snow and Tyson were the quickest post-war bowlers. Bob Willis was genuinely fast and a very fine bowler. Not quite the quickest though.

  • on his day, very quick indeed. this was his day!

  • We can all argue who the quickest bowler to represent England in modern times was : Greg Thomas, Graham Dilley, Devon Malcolm etc. all I know is that Willis was awesome that day.

  • That middle-stump yorker the perfect finale. This was the second or third test series I followed and probably thought Test matches like this were the norm! Having said that I only found out result on Ceefax, must have been at school.

  • awsome spell of bowling
