Here is a standing elbow dislocation technique called Maki Hiji Nage from Japanese Jujutsu. This can be ued as an escort (police/bouncers/security), elbow break (self defense) or a take down (and arrest pin).

  • I like this Japanese jj stuff. I don't think I'll be trading my bjj training for anything else any time soon, but this stuff would still be fun to go learn.

  • @chrokeii That's why we do both ;-)

  • It seems that there is a reasonable window of opportunity for the opponent to punch the defender in the face as he moves his arm over the attackers grab before locking the attacker up and off balance. The guy grabbing Ari instinctively raises his fist ready to strike as the defensive maneuver is starting to take place, my guess is that if this was real he wouldn't have held back on that opportunity and wld have clocked him straight away while he had the chance. You wld have to move quick 4 this!

  • @c23am In the hundreds of live applications that I have used this over 15 years (and actively having people wanting to punch me in the head from an escort), I have yet to be punched in the head. The key isn't speed, it is INTENT (as is with ALL martial art moves). I let my experience dictate what works rather than simply seeing something and saying 'that won't work".

  • I like the Japan style better than Brazil.

  • @Submissions101 well said. I love how you guys bridge the standup defensive applications of old school jujutsu with the ne waza of modern BJJ. You guys are the real deal and an asset and role model in the jujutsu community.

  • @RipCord Iv got chance to do Judo. Do you think it can be effective on street and is this useful? My uncle was doing Judo for years ( I did not meet him since years ago.) and he can doit awesome but he was always strong as f*ck. So I don't compare myself against him. (He is a tipical big guy, badass calm fighter.) But I can be confused sometimes. So I would like to learn Judo. What's your opinions? (Im not a big guy but I heard technic is the Important! But I would like to ask your op.)

  • Ari and Submissions 101, could you do a detailed video about the difference between the techniques in Japanese jiu jitsu and in Brazilian jiu jitsu?

  • good It is tradicionalan allright

  • yellow belt is regretting that he volunteered to help demonstrate that technique

  • @c23am Stop over analyzing. He might have struck out after you several times already, and you simply get it off the clinch. If you can't adapt the technique to the situation, trough thinking outside the box, no technique will work.. This is one of the few standing armlocks I've successfully used as a bouncer for ten years. It's an excellent control position. I've always been trying to find a way to throw from here, found it now though, thanks! Oh, you can do an arm drag from here to his side!

  • @infokemp It's called Bartitsu. =)

  • Hey im only 14 but ive won 4 tournamets and my teacher wants to put me in adult brizzilian jj or japanese jj and he said its my choice, wich do you perfer?
