There's nothing wrong with my TV as I'm not pointing a camera at it to record from it.

What you're describing is interlacing, which has come about recently as a result of Youtube (helpfully, again) updating their software which knackers things sometimes (look at some of my earlier vids where the screen has now gone THIN!GRRR!)

After I've reuploaded my Portal clips in widescreen, all my new vids will be deinterlaced so will look fine, now I am able to do that but I can't change old vids, alas:(
