Okay, first a disclaimer: I don't know a thing about model airplanes but I've always loved watching 'em fly! So, luckily, my friend and coworker Gary took some time to demonstrate his little half-ounce (24 gram) plane for me. This small plane was loads of fun and cost Gary less than $150 USD - which included the battery and radio control unit! Despite the missing wheel (due to a hard landing over the weekend) the plane is surprisingly rugged and durable.
Anyway, Gary expertly flew the plane around the parking lot. And, much to my delight I was able to capture most of the flight on this and on other video I've posted on YouTube. If I, myself, ever "get into" model planes this will be the way I do it - light weight, simple, inexpensive, and loads of fun!
Here's my personal web site about everything (except maybe model airplanes, or at least until I get around to creating such a page!):

I haven't seen the guy who owns this plane in half a year. From what I think I remember the overall weight of the plane is less than 1.5 ounces (42.5 grams). I believe the battery was 3.7 volts.
