St. Louise de Marillac is the Patron Saint of Christian Social Workers. She cofounded the Daughters of Charity in 1633 with St. Vincent de Paul. The Daughters of Charity is an international Society of Apostolic Life. The Sisters dedicate their lives to God, in community, for the service of those who are poor. Sr. Louise Sullivan is an expert on St. Louise de Marillac and 17th century France. Sr. Louise translated the writings of St. Louise into English.
