housands of Members of the Writers Guild of America Rallied today at Fox Plaza in Los Angeles California, on the Fifth day of the writers strike. Each passing day that the Studios refuse to bargain in good faith, brings more unity among the 12,000 member strong WGA to get a fair contract for its members and to be paid a tiny percentage of the revenue that the studios generate from the use of their work
I think this is more to do with writers wanting to be treated fairly by studios more than them wanting to jerk viewers of their shows around.
