This is one of my Kahlenberg D-3 mega yacht horns that I own. Filmed at Angeles Crest Highway in Southern California by Big Mike Muniz

  • Would you say that particular horn is a LOT louder than my Nathan airtime K5LA?

  • @viper7077 ,Smaller, higher pitched horns will sound louder at close range because human hearing is most sensitive around 3.5kHz and considerably less sensitive down at the range of the D-3.This is why a train horns like the K5LA can sound ear-bleedingly loud despite having about half of the power output of the D-3. I agree that you'd find train horns harder on the ears, the D-3 will have a much longer audible range and longer echoes. Loco horns louder upclose, ship horns can be heard further

  • how much pressure are you running and what size line? Are you using a ball valve ot electric solinoid valve? or graham white valve?

  • @viper7077 , 150psi, 1/2" line, electric solenoid.

  • Awesome!!

  • @98snakeeater , Thanks, Yes, I will still make more videos...

  • Like the video! Nice sounding horn and the echo is good. And I had to laugh when you sounded the car horn for comparison.
