@spacepatrolman That's understandable: whereas the 2nd is quite conventional in terms of form, from the third on he becomes fairly revolutionary in the architecture of the symphonies. Especially the last movement of the third isn't really architectural at all in form but rather purely organic - the music finds its own way forward with no superstructure imposed on it. Given that the forces and the harmonies are still almost Tchaikovskian, it can be disorienting.
