our wildcard for the Europe Lab in West ;)
(love facebook copyright laws)

So for one of our projects in West and the World each group was assigned a different country, my group was to research Czechoslovakia. The final aspect was the "wild card" so you can do whatever you would like to explain your country.
We decided to focus on the Velvet Revolution in Czechoslovakia, where communism fell and democracy rose. It was the most peaceful revolution during this time period, (the Cold War) therefore, very important in Eastern European history.
The photos scattered on the ground represent the chaos during the Soviet rule and finally when they all united under one front (the students putting up the photos) they were successful in achieving independence, which then resulted in the creation of the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
The photos used are also all from the Velvet Revolution.
