Kenia, de parel van Oost Afrika, heeft te lijden van de grootste droogte ooit.Alles wat weg kan, trekt weg. Voor velen rest een roemloos lot. De filmtoont in twee delen de natuur zoals het bedoeld is. Alleen de sterkstenoverleven de extreme droogte van 2009. Nijlpaarden vinden geen eten.Duizenden buffels trekken door het droge Tsavo. Olifanten vallen ten prooiaan de roofdieren. Zelfs te voet volgt de filmcrew van AVP de rode loper van Tsavo.De film volgt een kudde olifanten, geleid door een uitgemergelde Matriarch.Langs paden die hun ouders al volgden. Vol gevaren. Op haar unieke wijzepoogt de natuur te overleven. Als de regens vallen over de Masai Mara, volgt een geboortegolf van Impala's. Dan begint ook het grootste spektakel ter wereld. De migratie van ruim twee miljoen hoefdieren. Wildebeesten vallen ten prooi aan de "deathrolls" van de vraatzuchtige Nijlkrokodillen. Als de Wildebeesten teruggaan naar de Serengeti in Tanzania, blijft de Masai Mara leeg achter. Binnen niet al te lange tijd, begint weer een lange beproeving van overleven. NEVER GIVE UP!

The film shows in two parts how nature is meant to be. Only the fittest survive the extreme drought of 2009. Hippo's can find no food. Thousands of Buffalo roam through the dry Tsavo. Elephants fall victim to predators. Even by foot the AVP film crew proceeds along the red carpet of Tsavo. The film follows a herd of elephants, guided by an emaciated Matriarch. Walking literally in the paths of their ancestors. Full of danger. On their unique way nature attempts to survive. When the rains fall in the Masai Mara, Impalas have a peak in giving birth. That is also when the greatest show of the world begins. The annual migration of over two million ungulates. Not all Wildebeest can escape from the "death rolls" of greedy Nile crocodiles. When in October the Wildebeest return to the Serengeti in Tanzania, the Masai Mara stays behind deserted. Soon the ordeal to survive will commence again. NEVER GIVE UP!
