Chris (Nico Mirallegro) is a troubled teenager who wants to punch his way through life. Abandoned by his father, he harbours a deep resentment towards his mother and struggles to come to terms with the pain of rejection.

His situation worsens with the arrival of his new Step-Family, especially his Step-Father, Paul (Andy Crawford). Chris channels his contempt for Paul into his talent for boxing. In the ring he unleashes his frustration and tastes freedom. This sport is the last link to his estranged father and Chris believes that through emulating his successes as a prize fighter he can make him proud and bring him back. However the arrival of an unexpected letter threatens to shatter Chris' illusions of his beloved father and set him on a new path.

  • Films shorts have so much to offer and in "Six Minutes of Glory" Plato Films have truly shown that they know what it is all about.

Catching the attention quickly of the viewer and then ensuring it grabs and keeps them at the same time wanting more.

Superb shot and some amazing acting, Nico Mirallegro shows what a young talent he is and one to be watched.

Look forward to more from Plato Films!

  • Having seen award-winning One Last Love Song, I knew how great Plato Films are with short films; telling volumes of back-story from scene one.

The acting was awesome, notably from Nico Mirallegro as Chris; who at first seems an unsympathetic character; yet Nico gives him a vulnerable intensity; so he’s easier to relate to.

Andy Crawford's equally empathic in his role as Chris's foster dad Paul. This plus stunning cinematography and mood music, makes it another unmissable short by Plato Films.

  • Great job! Really involving and beautifully put together. Thanks.

  • Very solid work - engaging and compelling. Keep it up!
