great vid

That example on our leg was perfect.
-
Accent or even,it's a matter of taste but your lesson is damn good!
-
"Sense" of a triple-p -is- rudimental: So you can do anything. On 1 drum it doesn't seem a big deal, but for total freedom, a triple-p's 1 more tool: Ex: A big single stroke on your snare for 3 counts punctuated with a double hit on your right cymbal on the 4th, then the same w/ the double hit on your left cymbal, would be a triple-p. If you've practiced other rudiments you'll play this 'ok' on the spot, but its sharper w/the assurance of having practiced the specific rudiment.

damn i wish i could do that great demonstration.

now i can motivate myself to practice more rudiments!

You can use doble-paradiddles playing in a swing context.

Yea man, you know what's up! You can use rudiments for all sorts of things, plus you can put them together to make "hybrid" rudiments and tear them apart and do all kinds of stuff. It's all about the freedom to create.

that's true.. It's all about your expression on the drumset.. Oh and the paradiddle rudiment is actually written with the accents, because technically, I think, the only way to execute them very fast is by applying the moeller technique (which is based on the accents), but also, as you say, it's important to practice paradiddles without the accentuation.

Yea man, you make some good points. I think the accent is there to show you the first note on each paradiddle for easy learning. You don't need the moeller technique to play them fast though, just good practice.

Dude, out of all the drum teachers on youtube, your honestly the best one cause you take the time to teach and you go over things slowly and seem like you care. Your rudiments are insane. Ive been playing for 6 years and Ive got a lot of them down. And your kit sounds awesome, message me back and tell me what it consist of

I use a DW Kit, 8" 10" & 13" toms with a 20" kick on this video with a 13x7 acrylic pork pie snare drum. The cymbals are Zildjian 14" New Beat hi-hats and a Zildjian 20" Ping Ride.
