I went swimming with friends. The water was cold, clean, crystalline, fresh from the hills and mountains that surround the area.

I'd been locked in my office for 3 days days and nights trying to catch up on a website design (very unhealthy, I know. Sadly, that's what we computer geeks get like...) Finally, my new neighbours Chirs and Gloria persuaded me to go to the river with them and some of the members of their family. Actually they all ganged up on me, shouting 'You HAVE to come with us!!!' until in the end I couldn't say no.

Wow, what a great time I had! Now THIS is why I came to Panama!

I'm not sure of where I was - we went in Gloria's uncle's rattly old truck along some off-the-beaten-path journey - but it was one of the rivers that are all around David, Panama's second biggest city, in the state of Chiriqui.
