ACA Allertor tornado siren 05/03/2005

A monthly test of an ACA Allertor tornado siren. This siren is located at a water tower in Hoffman Estates, IL and is about 150 feet from where I live. As with all sirens in Illinois, this siren is tested every first Tuesday of the month at 10:00 AM. Recorded on May 3, 2005.

This siren was purchased around 1977, and was moved to it's current location around 1992. It's a single phased, single toned model (rare) and was repainted in 2004. It did have some rotator problems for a short time in 2006, but they have not occurred since. This siren is one of 3 (that I know of) Allertors in the village. There are also RM-130's, and 1 T-128.
