Awesome...thanks

Thank you so much for putting this clip up...it's a treasure and honor to a son proud of his father's achievement yet humble enough not to mention his own awesome achievements in the cinema as well.

@jksonny Not true! By the accounts of all people who knew and worked with him, he was highly sensitive and caring man. For example, Loretta Young and Patsy Ruth Miller (young actresses he worked with) both told moving tales throughout their lives of how he shielded them from cruel directors. He was strict with his son, like most fathers of that time, but there is no evidence at all that he was ever harsh, brutal, or abusive.

I wonder why the "Hunchback" clips are shown in reverse? This is a very interesting interview, indeed.

I grew up with lon Chaney jnr, I still remember begging with my mum to wake me up at 10 :30 when the famous monsters series was showing in the 70's (of course she didn't) But eventually I saw it and I have been a fan ever since.
God bless you lon, and for me you never lived in your dad's shadow. I mean come on !! was he in the wolf man, or high noon ?.

Thanks for posting! I'm a big Chnaey Jr. and Chaney Sr. fan. From what I've read, Sr. was a brutal man that did not treat his son well at all.

Lon Chaney Sr. was the greatest expressive actor, and he originated so many of the techniques and ideas that would inspire makeup artists for all time. A genius.

This is very rare tv interview..where Mr.Chaney,Jr. is sober and charming and informative.

This is an amazing clip. Never knew about this interview. Chaney, Jr. was a great guy by all accounts and this is an astonishing treat. Chaney, Sr. was arguably the screen's greatest actor, along with Chaplin. Watch him in "The Unknown" (1927) with Joan Crawford for the most stunning performance ever recorded on film.
Lon Chaney Jr. sounds so nice and sweet.
i wish I could meet him if he were still alive.

Happy 127th Birthday to Lon Chaney, Sr. (1883-1930). Your portrayals of Quasimodo and Erik (as well as the many other roles you played) are true masterpieces. May your compassionate spirit inspire us all and forever live in our hearts.
This was a wonderful interview. It was great to see Creighton talk about his father. Thank you for posting this.
