If the video never was on the Internet it wouldn't be as meaningful. The offense was public so the punishment should be also, IMO.
And this kid didn't care how he embarassed his family on Facebook by acting like a fake thug, so his uncle showed him what it really feels like to be embarassed. Maybe now he'll think about his actions before he does something stupid next time.
