  • I find it disappointing that people say guys like Clapton and Santana are the best living guitarists when Richard Thompson is alive and ridiculously more amazing. I could listen to him all day, and he's the man I aspire to play guitar like. Such an under-appreciated genius.

  • this has to be the best artist VH1 ever landed on their show!

  • @costellodan the world does recognize his brilliance. it's just that he's just too literate, too dark and too ironic for the masses. as a longtime fan, I can say that RT is adored by his audience.

  • So generous of VH1 to give Richard a red backdrop, a stool and a couple of mic stands. But, then again, all he really needs is his voice, his words and his guitar.

  • @broadwayscaera And he is so lovely modest and funny. Love his music to pieces!!!

  • Why the red? It's hard to get used to. But the mics and mic stands, and camera work, are all thoughtful, like they're listening.

  • When will the world recognise this remarkable man?

  • fab!

  • I love this, the lyrics are superb. You can really imagine being a child again.

  • RT doesn't normally play his acoustic guitar acoustically (I know that sounds stupid, but think about it). Quite like the softer feel.
