  • what's your best guess on what size of tubing I need to start gathering up for my 36 Chevy Master 4-door? just measure the approx. width of wood there is? what guage tubing is a good reference? all the wood is still there except one back door; enjoyed all the videos, the ones with replacing the wood got me to think, Hell try it yourself, you've had the car in the shed for 20 years, Thanks Terry

  • @mudbone789 I used some 1x2 I think i'll have to look, Ive done so much stuff since then, I really dont even remember put I'm happy to take a look and get back to you I think some of it was 1x1 also.I'll have to check the gauge.I'm pretty bad about that stuff.. If I dont work with it every day. then i forget. I am really focused at the time, then I move on to something else and pretty much put the last step behind me. I hope to see video of you working on your 36 Master soon! just do it! haha

  • @1963impala2dr Thank you sir , I'm gonna hook it up to my 9N wrecker and put it under the carport where I will see it every day, maybe then i will get it going the right direction, even its its wrong ! It's got a Height's cross member, boxed frame and mustang 2 front end, will post a video soon, hope I don't pester you too much , Terry

  • @mudbone789 pester away! haha

  • I remember my dad having a 5 speed s10 ..Every 100,000 kms the tranny would blow up on him turns out they were known for it..last new tranny he put in hed flush every 6 months and did a mix of a heavier oil and since then it has been fine untill he sold it with 470,000 ish kns on it

  • @CanuckPepperhead humm.. I bought an 83 s10 new with a t5.. never had a problem. its still running.. in another vehicle. they use them in hot rods every day because of the dependability. you musta had a lemon

  • @1963impala2dr my local napa was able to get me a custom made disc since the combo i have ran in my 51 buick there was no clutch disk available. hope you made out ok. an old friend of mine also swapped in the s 10 5 speed to his 32 chev as well

  • it could have been all the highway miles who knows he is a slow driver and has never hauled anything in that truck besides maby grocerys lol rest of the truck was top notch..oiled every year(in better shape than most 5 year old cars)no rust lire I said 450 ish shes still on the road under a new owner my dads woman made him get a new truck because he travels 40 ish mins per way..no lemon there besides the tranny..450 ish didnt leak or burn pretty good for a 2.5 I must say

  • hit a little snag. the guy is looking for a 13 spline center hub to fit my disk. just a bump in the road. if he cant get one.. I'll swap out the input shaft on my tranny with a 10 spline from a jeep and have him just reline my clutch. thanks for asking!!
