TW6000 Stadtbahn oder Strassenbahn. The TW 6000 is a type of articulated light rail vehicle used on the Hanover Stadtbahn system, originally manufactured by Düwag, AEG, Kiepe and Siemens, the later batches being built by LHB (now part of Alstom). From 2002 on, 76 units were sold to Budapest and may be 8 to Den Haag.
Stadtbahn (City Rail) is a smart concept for cities not big enough for a heavy rail system but that need more than in-street running: use light rail vehicles that run in the streets (Strassenbahn), or on separated right of way, or in a subway. Our Pittsburgh, PA "T" system also has all 3. Our cars are similar to your TW 6000s, but with just 1 articulation, not 2; built as Siemens SD-400s, then rebuilt, and with new-build cars, by Spain's CAF. They sound a lot like the TW 6000s!
