Ohio State Highway Patrol Dashboard Camera

Chardon Post: Tpr. Davis almost struck on June 8, 2002: Tpr. Davis was on-foot conducting a traffic stop on westbound State Route 2 in Lake County, when a passing vehicle struck both Tpr. Davis's Patrol car and the car he had pulled over. Tpr. Davis was struck by flying debris, but escaped serious injury.

We'd love to stop bank robbers, car thieves, and drug couriers. The fact is we don't have time because we're too busy handling car crashes every single day regardless of the weather. If people would slow down and pay attention, maybe we wouldn't have so many traffic fatalities nationwide. We live in a society where running late is OK (It's not my fault!). Traffic crashes are caused by a traffic violation. Plain & simple.

Being a police officer, stuff like this makes me cringe. I have never been in a situation like this. I've been in patrol for 2 years and I am lucky it hasn't happened to me. and to respond to the idiot below, traffic stops are meant for this purpose. They are to keep people safe, it is part of REAL police work. Driving fast and/or under the influence is the same as robberies and things, sometimes more dangerous!

It took a crash like this that killed some officers out on ANOTHER crash to pass a law that states when passing emergency vehicles you either get over a lane or SLOW DOWN! It's not that hard. Hope the idiot that hit these two cars got a hefty fine and a good ass chewing cause he deserved it

The assailant had previously gotten away with murder. The cops support a corrupt system that steals from the public and abuses their power to make their pockets fat.
