Testing the M-Audio Axiom Pro 49 masterkeyboard and Pianissimo, testing Axiom Pro as a piano instrument. The only nice semi-weighted I've ever tested that feels a bit like a grand piano. It's a nice feeling, you actually sense some sense of weight actually. And for light touches it's pretty easy to press vauge notes, could be a bit easier though. Very nice for the price. This snippet is a test, audio and video out of sync. For this test I had no sustain pedal to try with.
It's the beginnging of a Improvsation Instrumental song I made today I call "If I ever were.." Hope you enjoy it.
P.S. if you got a Korg Triton/Trinity w. MOSS, please feel free download windinstrumentpatches at. (cartadore.com). Also got some other stuff there I'm working on. Anyways; have a great day :)
Merry Christmas everyone!!

im thinking about buying this one, primary to use it as a midi controller, but I want to learn the basics in piano too. I am a little bit sceptical if it makes sense on a keyboard with just 49 keys. How often do you have to have to swich octaves when you play? thanks for any help.

@blu3leg3nd Excellent q. Sometimes I kind of miss having a full grand piano range which is what I'm used to.
As 49(or even 61) keys gets a bit crowded at times for certain songs. Oct. doesn't happen much though. I feel this is about the perfect compact size, As for general limits I could easly see me using this a couple more years and see no problem using it for learning basics of piano and even go abit virtuoso on it. you can do piano on it. But ya, I wouldn't deny a full grand.. is nice.

what do you think the right sound module for axiom pro? any suggestions?
lynuxz08 7 months ago
@lynuxz08 You mean hardware? I havn't had that much time yet to be trying hardware modules, but I found the Axiom versatile, you could probably use about any hardware module or software plug, and get a good match. It all depends on what kind of music and sound you want. Some of the software I've tried and that I may confirm work perfectly; Garageband, Cubase, Pianissimo and Korg Legacy Digital/Analog, they all play well together with the Axiom Pro. Hope that's more or less answers your question.
