  • grazing and trampling plants??? what about the bloody huge tanks and bombs???? Rather have galloping history than a ugly tank

  • So the ones the whiteman finds no use for are immediately sold to slaughter. I thought America treated their wild horses bad! NZ takes the cake.

  • @iluvcarty Kaimanawa horses already make excellent jumpers. No thoroughbred is needed.

  • My art teacher has adopted two Kaimanawa colts over the past two years, and they are the most lovely ponies. She takes them for walks down to the beach and I often walk the oldest one, and he's absolutely beautiful.

Such a shame that so many of these horses have to go to the abbatoir.

  • someone should realeas a purebreed stallion onto the kaimanawa ranges and then the people will want to keep them cause they will have purebreed in them =Z

  • Those beautiful Horses have to die, to make more room for humans.

Afterall, we have never harmed the planet in any way - except for:

Nuclear poisoning of the air, water and earth, deforestation, global warming, over population, pollution(all form of it), extinction of many other species, over fishing of the seas, delivery of massive amounts of oil to the oceans, world wars - and so on.

So, you see, we are certainly the best species to decide who lives and who dies :( .

  • could put some thoroughbred blood back into them more people might want them as sport horses or polo ponies?

  • It's so sad how New Zealand's native and beautiful ponies (well and some horses) have to be killed to save a species of grass :(

  • is this the one from this year?

if so... wonder if i'll see my colts...!
