The opening titles to "That's Corky!", an NBC sitcom which aired from 1983-84. It starred a young Sally Bradford as the titular "Corky," whose catchphrase "That's bananas!" briefly entered the pop-culture lexicon.
Created and produced by legendary comedy scribes Martin Cohan and Blake Hunter ("Who's The Boss?", "Diff'rent Strokes," "Silver Spoons"), it also starred Steven Wygle, T.L. Vincent, and comedy icon Edie McClurg.
Theme song was written and performed by Gary Portnoy ("Cheers," "Punky Brewster," "Mr. Belvedere").
I find this really entertaining, but I'd love more info on this farce. Did you marry writer/producer Sally Bradford Mr. McKenna?
Did Portnoy actually have anything to do with this?
Must know! Please write me at rhcooper@pipeline.com if possible. Thank you.
