I find the OVA better than the series. Way more emotional and better done. And more fitting ending in my opinion.

kill Aizen. Kenshin wanted to find redemption from killing Tomoe by protecting others, and not killing. Ichigo wants to fight his enemies, even to the death to protect others, thus he puts others before himself, which is one of his weaknesses. What brought Ichigo the will to protect was when his mother died protecting him. Now, Ichigo has a fighting spirit, and is now focused on killing Aizen because it will save karakura town and soul society from destruction.

I hate how people say that Ichigo got filled with too much angst and all that bs in Bleach. That's because he wants to protect his friends and family, just like Kenshin. Both lacked a pure fighting instinct in order to do so. Near the end, Kenshin was able to find his fighting spirit. Ichigo was able to find his resolve as well when fighting his inner hollow. When he was up Yammi, he didn't hesitate one bit to kill him (wasn't because the dude was freakin strong). Now, he has a full resolve to
