@SwineNahNah I saw " Iran-Contra-Gate " and we (the US) sold weapons to a Irani group that was opposed to the Ayatollah. And those pre-1979 weapons and supplies had been given to Iran to support the Shah, who was overturned by the Ayatollah.

US actually armed BOTH sides (see Iran-Contra-Gate), besides most of Iranian sophisticated weaponry (planes, helicopters, ships, even small arms) at that time was of Western origin from pre-1979 era, so it would be a bit unfair for Iran to moan about being left behind.

Hang on, It was IRAQ THAT ATTACKED THE US WARSHIP? WOW! So basically, IRAN DID NOT KILL ONE SINGLE AMERICAN in the conflict (unless someone died on the US oil rig that was attacked), while the US KILLED 290 CIVILIANS + untold numbers of deaths with the weapons that we had given Saddam? Well, whatever minute shred of credibility I may have had in support of US policy against Iran, is gone. They can build as many nukes as they want in my book.

@migkillerphantom But just because they MIGHT have preferred T-72B (How did Iraq get T-72Bs? the USSR sold them T-72M in 1988? Why would they give them T-72Bs???) doesn't mean that they performed any better.

@migkillerphantom I never mentioned Desert Storm because I'm well aware that most of the tanks weren't up to date.
However, you cannot deny that M60A1s did in fact beat T-72s south of Beirut. And that speaks volumes. Also, may you PM me these accounts? It's not that I don't believe you, it's just that that sounds interesting to read. You also need to keep this argument objective, just because these veterans might've preferred the T-72B's over M60A1s and Chieftan mk4Ps (Or MK5P?)
