The newest edition of the German ICE trains allow passengers right behind the driver. Unmatched is this view on the new 200 MPH French railroad.

  • The sign is for "no luggage."

    DH

  • Why is it driving von the left hand side? In Germany, trains normally drive on the right hand side.

  • @eltfell The ICE-3 is in France, on the line from Paris.

  • THAT IS AMAZING - why cant we british have such good trains? :-(

  • @CrazyInWeston Hey I actually have some "good" news for ya. The DB (The German train system thing, whatever you wanna call it) now has the permission to use the eurotunnel. They are planning on having the ICE 3 go from Frankfurt to London (through Belgium and France) within 5 hours. They ran some test on October 17, 2010 and plan on putting the line in service sometime in 2011 :)

  • @CrazyInWeston the last ten minutes into London are 145mph. 186mph all the rest of the way.

  • @CrazyInWeston steam trains :P?

  • @Borbuster Not really servicing the railway of the UK is it, just a short line connecting Europe from London, you still have to suffer slower trains from elsewhere to the London Eurostar connection. Even so, the max speed limit on UK side of Eurostar is 186mph, however there are many many places where it goes slower than this.

  • @CrazyInWeston We do, it's called Eurostar.

  • @LSBonnPower Nice that's encouraging news, hopefully they can see the great benefits of proper HSR and place lines around the country.

  • @xraycortina Its like British Broadband, while we have one of the oldest copper wiring in the world, other countries are more into doing Fibre Optics for broadband, for example Korea and Japan. In the Broadband world, Britain lags behind, just like in trains.

  • @CrazyInWeston It's ironic that the Brits had the steam train speed record of 125mph in 1938 and we haven't advanced since then, 72 years later. Hey ho.
