@MyFlik1 A movie also came out recently documenting the Hero's Journey based on Campbell's work. It's called Finding Joe and it’s about Campbell's work involving the steps taken on the journey. findi ngjoethemovi e.c om

@MyFlik1 im not giving away my secrets publicly, but you will never accomplish a powerful myth unless you truly understand them, jc is just the beginning of a much more complicated and sophisticated philosophy, you will know when you understand it because writing a story line should take no longer than an hour or so to get it down, if you really understand myth, good luck!

@DawgBlog What do you think symbols represent? You see a black crow on the screen and it means something besides death? Please let us know.

@MyFlik1 You guys need to understand what the symbols actually represent.....

@Klukie1994 Either way, the speaker will still have to choose a gender pronoun over the other; that or be forced into awkward structures using 'he or she' or 'one'. Consider that if, as is a trend today, the feminine pronoun is always used by default, it may one day cause puzzlement as well, as to why the author 'always says, she'. Until 'they' becomes legitimised as a genderless, singular pronoun (come on! 'You' is both singular and plural!), we'll always have to do the pronoun equality dance.

@MyFlik1 Interesting study out today about top 100 grossing films in 2008. Men speak 67% of time in films. Women strip 24%. Men do things in the plot. Women are mostly romantic interests or sex objects. 5x more male writers, directors and producers. Teen girls are the most sexualized. And you wonder why I say "he"? Link is on my Twitter.
Yes we need better films with strong female leads - especially animated ones for the little girls! My first 3D feature film has a female lead.

THis vid made me pull out all my JC books from storage. I have such killer plot-block at the moment. Arrgh!
A good book on this is: The Writers Journey.

@UberNoodleX This video covers everything in that book I thought was important along with Joseph Campbell's Hero With A 1000 Faces. Both books are great to read if you have time.
