A review of my Taurus PT1911 AR handgun. Hopefully it's helpful if you're looking for a 1911 on a budget and considering this gun.

  • Nice pistol bro, love your grips.Where did you get them from?

  • @Mrbeanutube

    Ebay.

  • The reason why your saftey wont angage all the way is in the right grip where the cutting is made for saftey you need to cut a little bit more on upper end of the grip. Had the same problem myself, works fine now.

  • @TheMauserBoy

The problem with the safety was still present with the factory grips as well. Not a big deal though, still love the gun. Although you do have to make sure you tell them when you order custom grips to cut them for a Taurus or they won't fit right (learned that the hard way).

  • i served 22 years in the military and my last tour of duty this was the weapon i carried.my life depended on this gun.its durable accurate and it took everything that was thrown at it.my partner carried a kimber and had nothing but problems in the field.dirt and sand the kimber was not up to the job.the taurus pt 1911 is an excel;lent gun and i know this because im still here to talk about it.

  • you leave em loaded and they jam you say. well gently tap the back (flat) part of the Clip (with your 8 cartridges in the-loaded- clip) on the table to gently nudge the rounds flush against the back of the clip. and because I do that before hand anyway I've never had a jam while it wast loading a new cartridge(bullet) after firing the topper.

  • Stop saying ummm!!!!!!!!!

  • Are those the Heinie sites? Haven't had a problem with mine and I've had it for a few years. Great gun. Thanks for the video.

  • Hey woodnickles, what kind of magezines would be better for the PT1911?

  • I had to replace the safety after the first trip to the range. It fell out =/. Replaced it with a King Ambi safety and have had no problems since.

  • i ordered 2 pt 1911's on accident-long story.. 1 was awesome in every way. Accurate and reliable as hell and i'd trust my life with it. The other 1 was CRAP!! I'd pay 1000 bucks for the good one. I wouldnt give u 100 for the other...

  • I think you are on to something here. Lower tiered 1911's (Taurus, RIA, Charles Daley, etc) should be used as range guns so that a shooter can practice and tune his skills. The higher quality 1911's just needed to be broken in and saved for the SHTF scenario. I am a true believer in hardware redundancy so I keep all of my 1911's in combat-ready condition.

  • That half-cock of the hammer, which is standard on all 1911's, is actually there to keep the weapon from firing, should the hammer drop (for whatever crazy reason) without the trigger being pulled.
