@kaneabel It was one of the most controversial moments in Memphis history and even tested the most loyal Lawler fans. In that snippet you can see a girl in the front row look horrified that Lawler did that. It is one thing that I hate to see even now because even from a booking stand point there was no call for it. I could have even handled an open handed slap, but a straight punch to a woman is just inexcusable even in the worked world of pro wrestling.

I dont know much about wrestling before 1989 but CWA looked as if it was quite innovative.
Im just going between old school clips on here and wresting from this era looked tight and solid! This is what we need, why was it changed?

damn, this is classic. I grew up in Blytheville, Arkansas, about 60 miles from Memphis, and they used to come thru once a month for a National Guard Armory show. every Saturday morning was like clockwork..cartoons until 10AM for CWA/USWA Memphis "rasslin".. man, I miss those times!
