EVE Online: Apocrypha Intro

EVE Online is a MMORPG (Massivly Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) which lacks the 'role playing'--at least to any major extent. There are missions/quests which can be undertaken for rewards and a Factional Warfare aspect which allows players to fight for (currently) 1 of the 4 empires (Amarr, Caldari, Gallente, Minmitar). The big lure of the game is the ability for PVP almost anywhere.

Personally I would say that eve actually has a huge amount of role-play involved. Just that your character and the storyline day to day is not typed out by CCP. You can get very into "playing" your character/role in corp ect.
