@Scotsbell ! I have had the marvelous opportunity to visit Scotland [and 14 other countries]. Scotland is a beautiful country; I wish greatly that I could return and remain in Scottland. There, I felt like I was home. My spirit yearns for it; there is no more beautiful land in this world; strong, witty and humourous people.. likewise for every nation, there is the good, the bad, and the ugly ;) but i would take it all for the rest of my days spent in Scotland.
@quirpco No offence taken but it would surprise you to hear that there are many tourists who come to Scotland and are disappointed that we don't all live in crofts, wear kilts all the time or have red hair!! I hope that you do manage to come to visit Scotland and see the real thing :)
@Scotsbell I sincerely apologize, I didn't mean to offend. That was just my very dry sense of humor talking (or typing?). I'm quite sure there is FAR more wonderfulness to Scotland that what I've protrayed in my comment, and I very much look forward to experiencing it once my bank account allows me to make the journey. :) God Bless!
@quirpco God, you've been watching too many Brigadoon type films. I can assure you as a "real" Scot, that there is more to our country than the tacky shortbread tin image that tourists like. By all means visit the Highlands and Islands which are indeed beautiful but there is far more to Scotland than heather, haggis and "bonny Morag"! :)
By all means come to Scotland - you'll love it - but don't feel any pressure to pay money to see this insipid military tattoo crap.

Short but nice piece of the Scottish dance.
Gentle movements and natural ladies, I mean
not selected anorectics, makes it pleasant to watch.
