HOW TO UNBRICK A SEMI-BRICKED WII WITH TUTORIAL

Okay, Today i am going to tell you step by step how to unbrick ur wii semi bricked wii :)

FIRST, MAKE SURE YOU CAN ACCESS THE HOMEBREW CHANNEL! this is crucial.

secondly download cIOSCORP v3.3 from this link. (i also use v1.0 in the video.. if u want it google search it) :

From there, download wad manager v 1.3:

IMPORTANT!!!!! DONT DOWNLOAD CIOSCORP v3.3 IF YOUR GOING TO USE PRELOADER!!! v3.3 INSTALLS CIOS60.WAD THAT CLASHES WITH PRELOADER THUS CAUSEING YOU TO BE BRICKED AGAIN!!! if you wish to use starfall or startpatch (starfall is for 3.2, startpatch is for 4.0 and 4.1) then this download will be fine.. for preloader, use cioscorp 1.1 download. (i dont have a link at the moment)

then Download NUS WAD Packer and run it:

When you run the nus downloader, it will look like this:

Enter 0000000100000002 in the Title ID field.

For the Version field, enter your wii system menu version.
(for me running on 4.0u i enter 417 in the blank)

Click the box that says "WAD" and change that to "Dec Contents", and chuck the box next to it.

then hit start NUS Download and let it do its magic :)

once it is completed, find the wad file. put the wad file on the root of your sd card in a folder called "Wad"

Put Cioscorp and its 3 contents onto the root of your sd in a folder called "apps"

Also put wad manager on the apps folder.

from there remove the sd card from your computer and put it into your wii. launch it to the homebrew browser(using preloader or bootmii)

first select cIOSCORP v 3.3 main installer. run it and wait till it is complete.
when its done it will tell you to press any button to continue.

then open up wad manager. select the wad you recently created, containing the system menu.
install that.

once you have done so you will be unbricked :) YAY!

From there i recogment you go onto bootmii, select the 3rd option(one with the sd card on it) and then select the one with the arrow going from the system to the sd card.
this will back up your system nand. it will take a while but will go through process your wii's whole memory, fix bad files then you can restore easily in the case that you do brick again.

after you restore the wii menu, you will have lose your preloader, you may or may not want to get it back at the moment. i want to downgrade my wii to 3.2u so it actually benefitted me that it gets rid of it as downgrading with preloader on can cause serious damage to your wii.

SD EXPLORER (0:20) to BACKUP WII MENU (0:24) which opens up the menu shown at (0:37) and (1:11) your wii will do exactly as seen in the video up to (7:00) to back up the nand. to restore the nand to get out of the brick go

SD EXPLORER (0:20) to RESTORE WII MENU (0:31) which will open up anothermenu like the one seen for backing it up.

THE REASON this works is because PRELOADER/BOOTMII will be loaded BEFORE THE SYSTEM MENU IS (before the bricked system menu the definition of SEMI BRICK means just that ITS ONLY A SYSTEM MENU BRICK or BANNER BRICK in channel creation terms but that said google me i have destroyed the wii system menu in hacks with my wii theme team lol

@fortysixyou SIMPLY UNINSTALL THE OFFENDING WAD FILE WOULD IN YOUR CASE however to do that requires some sort of brick recovery device like bootmii or preloader ;) hope that helps :P

Hey man, the wii in your tutorial isn't 'semi-bricked'. Semi-brick is when you can't access the maintenance menu. All you get is an Opera screen. That's the problem with my wii. I wonder if doing this would fix my wii, or mess it up worse.

wen i did the wad packer thingy i have 4.3u and i looked up the version and typed it in and changed the output to dec contents and chose my output folder and theres nothing in the folder but there is a new folder called tmp and it has .app in it but no wads
