  • The only thing I did to the diesel engine was to put a heat exchanger in to heat the wvo. I ran that engine for 3 years which was worn out when i bought it. Later it spinned a main bearing. when i took the engine apart it was very clean. I plugged an electric clock into the generator and it was keeping the correct time, so it had to be running 60 cycles, but the motor was 1750 rpm and I was running it at 1730 rpm to get the 60 cycles

  • Thats a nice machine. What kind of diesel engine is that? How many watts does the generator output? I've got a 27hp isuzu 4 cylinder that would work well for something like this!

  • @torque395 Its a yanmar 10hp, it came out of a thermo king cooler. I now have a continental tm 235 3 cylinder, overkill but my son-in-law gave it to me, it was in a miller welder. Your isuzu would work great. I have ran 6500 watts 24 hours a day and the generator never gets hot. I dont know the exact watts the generator will put out. Later I will find out.

  • Is this a generator or a rotary phase converter? Also, why do you go by the name "Batman"?

  • @mattspawn1975 This is a motor converted to generator. It produces its own power through capacitors which excites the coils { driven by mechanical power such as diesel gas water or another electric motor]

  • @BatMan21625 I made baseball bats for 8 years and everybody started calling me batman. I sold the business about a month ago as MLB made it impossible with their new regulations to sell bats to the major and minor leagues. It would cost more money each season to be approved than you could make.

  • hey a three phase induction motor can not be converted into inverter untill you arrange capacitors tang

  • hi there, its allways the way these days,a soon as the big boys find out that somebody is a potential threat to them, they have the money to hussle the government into introducing laws to bring the smaller boys to their knees.its happened over hear in the uk and the situation is getting worse.soon enough everything will be very expensive.will email you for the plans.cheers.gareth.

  • @shortyjk95 That's not loud at all. At 1750 RPM, the engine should be fairly quiet. You ought to hear my commercial genset running at ~3600 RPM. Remember, he's recording this video inside a room. And it gets really quiet if you turn down the speaker volume. Try it! : - )

  • Nice job there buddy, I'm about to play around with a 60 horse, yes 60 HP motor and try to turn it into a generator. Should be fun...

  • Nice and loud just the way I hate em

  • power tools and any items with motors having brushes will not be frequency sensitive like induction motors induction motors speed is determined by the turning field rpm which is determined by number of poles and frequency i e 4 pole motor on 60 cycle 1800 rpm synchronous 1750 rpm for average induction motor allowing 50 rpm slippage to create the induction in the squirrel cage creating currents in the squirrel cage reaction between currents and field creating torque force

  • the most important thing when feeding electrical items is feeding the correct voltage way high frequency will not damage all items but excessive voltage will just about damage all items

  • to answer pusswhakker if you feed something made for 60 cycle with a frequency thats a bit off generaly speaking it will not damage it if its an old style clock it will then not be accurate for time induction motors will run at different speeds than they should and could overheat if the frequency is way off say to low and if way high the motor will try to run way faster than normal lights heaters etc will not be affected except fluorescents maybe hot plates toasters unafected

  • in the case of a induction motor operating at 1730 or 1750 rpm on 60 cycle the actual turning field rpm in this case is exactly 1800 rpm the difference between the turning field rpm and the actual squirel cage speed is called slippage and allows the induction in the squirrel cage to take place and varies a little according to the load on the motor so to obtain 60 cycle from aconverted motor to alternator one needs 1800 rpm for 60 cycle i e 4 pole generator
