Episode 2 Overview:
Ryūji figures out that for Taiga to help him get closer to Minori, he has to first help her get closer to Yūsaku. During basketball shooting practice, Taiga and Ryūji plan to knock out Yūsaku's partner with a basketball so that Taiga can be Yūsaku's partner. However, Taiga ends up being knocked out instead. She makes some cookies and plans to give them to Yūsaku; unfortunately, she falls off the stairs, throwing them out of the window in the process. Ryūji breaks her fall. He eats her cookies and says they are great, encouraging her to try making cookies again. Since Ryūji and Taiga are often together, a misunderstanding begins among their classmates that Ryūji and Taiga are going out. This causes Taiga to rage and wreak havoc in the classroom. Taiga sets the record straight the next day, and confesses her love to Yūsaku; however, he wants to continue being friends.

@zniekz Ooo, In Japan, calling people by their Last name is I think a sign of respect, if you don't know the person to well. But then if you call them by their first name it's only if you have some type of relationship with the person (Ex. Friends, Lovers etc.)

Taiga is her surname and aisaka is her first name, for example John Smith, Taiga is like Smith and Aisaka is like John... :D does that help? :D

Lol u ppl r fing hilarious, trying to figure out taiga's first name, its ovious, its taiga, the last name gets changed after she gets married but Taiga always stays the same, trust me, ive read the manga and watched this anime multiple times.

@jolenetwj Actually, it's the other way around. Taiga is her first name and Aisaka is her last name, trust me, I've watched the whole series already :)
