    The story is based on an old chinese folk lore. So the fight scenes were not supposed to be realistic and in most cases does not follow the laws of physics

    The plot actually made perfect sense - the only thing that didn't would be obviously the bizarre jumping/flying ability of the characters. However, that's a common element in the Chinese kung-fu film genre and so makes sense too.
