I think that you are right on point, Jon. If you can get his speech that he made (on youtube) announcing his candidacy for the presidency in the 2008 election when he first ran, you will see that he hasn't changed his plans for America one bit, a little less idealistic maybe because of the fight that he's had with Congress, but he carefully enunicates every concern and every issue he will take on. Watch him now in his 2nd term - he is a changed man and with nothing to lose, he'll be relentless.
