I like this video. Strong end w/ the Alamo & Vietnam Memorial. LBJ is probably in an intolerably hot place as of this posting. He killed so many brave men.

They definitely should put REM Cover of Richard Thompson's Wall of Death,
otherwise, it looks like they are claiming credit for the song.
I agree, RT's songs ARE perfect. He doesn't need any help from any other musician "improving" his stuff.
Tribute CD sounds interesting - I'd like to hear more of it.
REM's version of Wall of Death is really good.

Nothing wrong with REM's version, but it pales in comparison to Richard's original, and Richard Thompson doesn't need ANYBODY to "perfect" his songs.

I'm a massive Fairport and Richard Thompson fan. Love the original version, but I think this REM "tribute" to R.T. is brilliant too. A good cover version in no way detracts from the qualities of the original.
