Thanks so much! Yes, I am indeed from Birkenhead, Oxton in fact. Where are ya from? We play the 3rd Wednesday of every month at Djangos riff, wood street, Liverpool. Its a great bar, great clientele, come down there if ya can! Other than that, we're normally around doin festivals, or random gigs here there and everywhere. Hope to see you (all) soon, best wishes, and thanks again for all the nice comments!

First of all your playing on this song is ubelivable!!!
I can't believe I haven't heard of you before.
You're quickly becoming one of my fav cureent gypsy jazzers next to Angelo D. and Joscho S.
I respect other current greats and would never criticize or discredit anybody but that's just me.
Now please when you have a moment tell us how you got THE sound here?
It took me a few seconds to realize it's really you playing live.
It sounds 100% 30's Django records, you captured the spirit too!

Hi there, thankyou so much for your comments, I'm so glad that you enjoyed the music. As for the sound......firstly, the guitar I use is a 1932 Selmer replica, built by Dave Hodson who, sadly, passed away last year. As for the recording of the sound; strangely, if you use a mic of lower quality, it replicates the standard of the day, thus giving you the vintage tone. One of the most genuine I did was using a web chat plastic mic, which cost a fiver!! lol. Anyway, thanks again, best wishes, Paul

Excelent solo! I noticed you use quite thick pick. Is that a wegen pick??

hey there, sorry it's taken me so long to respond; I only just realised you asked a question!!! Thanks for the comment, glad you liked the music. Actually, the pick I used here is one I made myself. I've been experimenting with different materials, sizes and shapes, and eventually found my ideal combination. I still use moustache picks also, usually 3 or 4mm. Thanks, best wishes, Paul
