All Things Digital Conference 2007 D5 Prologue
Video that played before Bill Gates and Steve Jobs came on stage at D5 for their joint interview with Walt Mossberg and Kara Swisher. Includes The Macintosh Dating Game, circa 1984. Ah, they looked so much younger then! And finally Gates and Jobs joking together at D3 in 2005.

  • Arguably -thats the word!

Microsoft would have been profitable despite of Jobs gettin kicked or not. The very reason being Microsoft filled a gaping hole in the rising PC technology: user-friendly software.

And "arguably" Jobs gettin kicked was the best thing to happen to Apple since he retunred thereafter & took Apple to new heights. Had he stayed he would arguably have led to downfall of Apple with his self-destructive ways. He returned as a smart man.

If I were running Apple, I would milk the Macintosh for all it's worth--and get busy on the next great thing. The PC wars are over. Done. Microsoft won a long time ago." --Steve Jobs, 1996

  • Well they did work together. The only one who's bitter is Jobs because he got kicked out of his own compay. Arguably had that not happened then Microsoft may not have been so profitable.

  • wow, i would have thought that these guys would hate each other... who knew they would turn out 2 b the best of friends!
