Roobarb: The mangy green mongrel with the overactive imagination takes centre stage for the complete collection of his hair brained schemes!
Custard: Roobarb's next door neighbour, a lazy and mischievous bright pink cat, who's always ready to poke fun at Roobarb's mishaps!
And some rather excitable birds.
Each fun packed episode finds Roobarb going about some lunatic mission or other, closely watched by Custard from his spot on the garden fence.
There's always an audience to laugh at him when things go wrong...as they invariably do !

I love it! In effect, it is a very professionally produced and cleverly designed 'flicker book'. Make one yourself! Get a wad of paper leaves (a blank book) and draw in the corner of each page. The next page is always slightly different to the last. When you flick through the book, the pictures form a movie. It is fun. What a clever idea to use the method (at least in appearance) to produce such a wonderful work of art.

Is it just me - or was most of the telly we watched as kids (if you're now between 40 and 50 years old) completely trippy (Magic Roundabout, Dr Who, Roobarb and Custard etc)? No wonder we all got into Es and raving when we hit our 20s!
