lol... all i get when i run the search is idiots putting huge earings in their ears lmao!
But I now think mine is a double flare unit, I put the nipple in, squeeze and then take the nipple out and squeeze once more...

A double flare is a two step process. Your local parts store should have what your looking for. They are not that expensive. Type in double flare on youtube and there should be several examples. Good luck, Bob
Subaru's also put all of their lines inside the car.

@taiden Smart. Anyone who builds a car for a winter climate should. Makes all the sense in the world..

i was a guest at a car manufacture recently and i specifically asked why do they make steel lines under the car what they usually rot first causing whole car to crash. The director answered that its all about reducing production cost, they don't even paint them because its cheaper and the car shouldn't last forever anyway. I'm going to replace mine lines too but i'll probably go with Cu-Ni ones.

@827rover Well, you bring up a good point. They don't make cars to last. They make 'em to sell. When they break down or crash, people have to buy more. So they can sell more. Interestingly enough, one car builder, Saab, put the brake lines inside the car body so that they weren't exposed to the elements. They did that on the old 900's but were bought out by GM and now they're just like other cars, nothing special..

brake lines are under high pressure, a standard flare usually won't hold up. You need a special double flare tool to make the correct flare. Your local auto parts store should have one.they are not that expensive. Good luck
