The reconciliation of facts between JJ Abrams continuity-disturbing Star Trek, and the Trek we all know and love. This is a serious SPOILER ALERT. Don't watch this unless you've seen the film, or don't care to see the film. Maybe this will want you to see the film more. All Star Trek stuff is a registered trademark or copyright of its owners. This is not intended to violate copyright, so don't sue me.

  • I think I'm still trying to figure capt. Kirk's middle name canonical conflict ...

His headstone in W.n.m.h.g.b. read ..

    James R. Kirk ...

In two episodes of the third season it was made mention of as James T. Kirk and in the animated series it was said in dialogue James Tiberius Kirk ...

My Guess is that Gary Lockwood his close friend at star fleet acadamy had an inside joke for writing the headstone with an R. Was Gary mentioned in the new movie as Kirks friend at the acadamy ??

  • Gary wouldn't have been Kirk's friend in this timeline. He graduated the same year Kirk entered Starfleet. There's a possibility of Gary still serving with him on the Enterprise. The events in "Where no man's gone before" take place about 8 years from the current setting.

  • Mental note: I made the incorrect conversion of 400m to 3000ft as 7 times the size. It should only be twice the size. Please reference this comment before making your "i-told-you-so's".

  • oops...I saw a mistake I wrote...it was supposed to say "I *saw* the movie....."

  • Most of that I was quite confused on....however! I do agree the Spock and Uhura relationship was wierd...but sweet :D I the movie with Selina this last weekend while we were in LA. I liked it. Except...I would have preferred that the sound effects were a few decibels lower....but other than that I liked it!
