Here's a look at the first installment of the Raiden Fighters series, and a fine game it is. Lots of variety in the ships you can choose and the power ups. The graphics are very nice with tons of animation, bullets and explosions onscreen that any fan of the original Raiden games will appreciate.

  • I really need to buy a copy of this game.

  • @robivy64 Long time no see Rob, hope all is well with you. Yeah it's a fantastic game, I was actually trying to sell my copy before getting my Windy back in order. Now that I've got a working vert cab there's no way I'm letting go of it.

  • first time commenting on your videos, i got to say this looks great, isnt this on 360 as well? This makes me want to play the game more.

  • @transparencypro Yeah, I've really been enjoying it. Raiden Fighters Aces is on the 360 which I believe can be had for cheap and I believe it's a collection of all three Raiden Fighters games. Thanks for the comment.

  • Classy game boss!! A pre-bullet hell classic. When a cab has a vertical monitor set up the whole machine looks like it was meant for that screen orientation, hardly any width wasted at the sides of the screen - just checking though, can you also play horizontal mode with that set up or is it just vertical? Very interested to see this one running on the 360 later this year.

  • @futurematt5 That's why the Japanese cabs are so awesome, most can be rotated from horizontal to vertical and some even have a rotation mech so you don't even have to physically pull it out. The monitor bezel also needs to be rotated to match the screen orientation. So yes this cab could be setup to play horizontal but since I have other hori cabs I've dedicated this to my vertical shooter cab.

  • Insane button bashing!! Looks a lot of fun!

  • Great seeing your Windy in action, especially having fine looking shmups gracing it. I've always loved the use of "little buddies", reminds me of all those classic Hudson Soft shooters like Soldier Blade and so forth back in the early 90's. Just think it's a really creative option to have personally. Cool gameplay anyway mate. :D

  • @TheWorldAtlus This gameplay was taken on my Konami Windy cab so it's straight RGB. I don't have any RGB monitors outside of my cabs and scart was really only used in Europe. Dankss did pickup a scart cable but he's using it through a converter since I believe his JVC monitor has BNC connectors for the RGB inputs. Some other RGB monitors like Sony PVM-2030 and PVM-2530 have a DB25 input for RGB so a custom cable must be made.
