Wrong nailing pattern......guess you have never done a three tab roof... if you want to do things right snap some chaulk lines instead of tabbing the shingles at 5 inches.. which way is the ocean? waaaaaaavy courses
@budbjr2- I've been contract shingling for 3 years on my own,I've been applying cedar shake roofs/repairs/metal roofs for 11 years.I started roofing as a labourer when i was 18 iam now 33 and a journeyman roofer. I know my trade.Good day/night to you.
@budbjr2 -Well iam sorry to hear that u have been taken advantage of iam a journeyman roofer myself complete with credentials. My previous teachers taught me to do my job properly/safe/fast.I don't mean no offence to you but possibly you wouldn't be so concerned with a journeyman roofer who is bondable. We put thousands of hours into our skill to achieve maximum efficiency and we do it like its our own home everytime. We don't make mistakes when we are professionals. We do it right the first time.
@JumpnEvolution Let me tell you sumthin buddy, as a homeowner I would (and I do) hire the guy that takes his time and does the job right than someone who works faster and may miss something. I have been burned too many times by contractors working "fast" in the interest of saving/making money.
I've only been shingling for 3yrs, i carry my own shingles around and work twice as fast. Also i hold n push my gun down properly so i am not whipping out my hammer very often handbangn nails down.Put that helper to work-the guy is just sittn, standing around alot and show him what to do so that you get more square footage done quicker. You'll make more money as well by moving quicker to the next job.Check the pressure on your airnailer then you'll eliminate the heads stickn out.
